Nelsen purchased the former Reid Funeral Home from Service Corporation International in 2005. Previously owned by Mr Stewart Reid, who is well known and regarded for his service to the Ashland community, we are proud to return the Reid Chapel of Nelsen Funeral Home to local, family ownership. Our remodeled facility is conveniently located on S Washington Highway, making our facility easily accessible by residents of Ashland, Hanover, Caroline and Glen Allen. Our facility boasts tastefully decorated staterooms, a spacious chapel and a lounge, from which we offer catering of visitations and receptions.
Nelsen is proud to have been voted Hanover’s preferred funeral home. Every year since 2005, Nelsen has received the “Readers’ Choice Award” in the annual survey conducted by the Hanover Herald Progress.
